Honey Glazed Almonds

These honey glazed roasted almonds are so easy to make and surprisingly delicious. They are perfect with cup of tea or coffee or by themselves. But what makes them so special is the fact that it takes only 3 ingredients and 3 steps to make them. Yes, you heard me right!

The honey glazed roasted almonds are suitable for vegetarians and are gluten, dairy and lactose free. However, if you are vegan, you can substitute the honey with maple syrup, stevia or sugar. I love using honey in my cooking/baking as I like the light, clean, pure and sometimes floral flavour. Maple syrup is the vegan alternative of honey and it has caramel flavour. It is a 100% natural sweetener and is more nutritious and generally healthier to use in place of white sugar.

5 Surprising Benefits of Honey

Did you know that it takes about 60,000 bees, visiting more than 2 million flowers, to gather enough nectar to make one pound of honey? The bee stores the nectar in its extra stomach where it mixes with enzymes, and then passes it to another bee’s mouth, via regurgitation. This process is repeated until the nectar becomes partially digested and is then deposited into a honeycomb. Then the honey bees fan the liquid nectar with their wings, helping the water to evaporate and create the thick substance you know as honey.

I’ve listed below 5 health benefits (out of many more) raw honey has to offer:

  • Rich in antioxidants
  • Antibacterial and antifungal
  • Heal wounds
  • Soothe a sore throat
  • Help for digestive issues

To make these delicious honey glazed roasted almonds is so simple. 3 ingredients in 3 steps:

  • Combine everything in a bowl
  • Lay in a single layer on a baking sheet
  • Bake and cool down

“A day without a friend is like a pot without a single drop of honey.”
