The Benefits of Vegetables

All vegetables contain healthful vitamins, minerals, and fiber. However, some stand out for their exceptional health benefits. They provide nutrients vital for health and maintenance of our bodies.

Replacing your high calorie foods with vegetables (which tend to be lower in calories) can lead to a lower calorie intake. This in turn will also decrease the risk of weight gain, which is associated with several diseases such as Type 2 Diabetes and high blood pressure.

Eating vegetables and fruits rich in potassium as part of an overall healthy diet may lower blood pressure. It may also reduce the risk of developing kidney stones and help to decrease bone loss.
